I am up here on the Mesa Trail in Boulder, Colorado. Today I am gonna be reviewing my Asolo 520 TPS GV Hiking Boots.

They have full grain leather for the uppers and gore-tex soles.

Today we have been hiking in pretty messy conditions. We got a snow fall for about two days ago and it’s just melting and gross and muddy right now. They are completely waterproof though, so it doesn’t bother me a bit. Staying completely dry. I have had these shoes for about 3 years now and I really feel like I am gonna have them for the rest of my life. They are amazing. I love everything about them.

I started off hiking in them on simple day hikes while I was wearing them in–before I took them into the backcountry. Never once did I get a single blister.

As you can see, they currently have a quite a bit of clay and mud on them, but they still have plenty of traction to keep me safe through these nasty conditions today.

They have full ankle support, so they’re super comfortable and safe to be taking on all sorts of terrain. I’ve worn them in some river crossings and they held up really well. They keep me cool enough that I am comfortable doing them on any day hikes. Well, not really in the summer time, I usually switch to some sort of hiking sandal in the summer time. But I love everything about them. I would definitely give them 5 out of 5 stars. No question!

Anything you don’t like about them?

There has not been one thing, not one problem that I have had. You know, I had read reviews before buying them. Someone wrote that they would be little heavy because they are all leather. I don’t find it to be a problem at all though. I would take the weight of them over a lightweight sandal that wasn’t as waterproof and that wasn’t as sturdy. These are just awesome, I love them.

Alright, Great!

Thanks for your articles. They are very interesting and I love the fact that they feel very honest. Can I order these boots from your suggested sites? I live in Australia and need boots soon. Are any of the sites located in Australia? That would be better. I live near Brisbane in Queensland.

    Thanks.
