Do you love waterfalls, towering rocks, and crystal blue lakes? If so, you must hike Glacier National Park's Avalanche Lake Trail.
It begins near the West Glacier entrance of Going to the Sun Road and is so easy to locate.
For years it seems it has been a hidden treasure. Both my son and husband love to fish there. The beauty of the falls dripping down from three sides of rock walls, around a small lake is priceless--there's even a beach to walk on, too!
You just can't beat this moderate Glacier National Park hike that is well worth the few miles it takes to hike
Make sure you send the day and pack a lunch. By the way, Avalanche Lake does cascade into a canyon and you can hear it rushing down the mountain near the trail.
Such a beautiful, cedar forest to hike through.
Enjoy hiking Avalanche Lake on your Glacier National Park vacation!
