Hiking Grinnell Glacier Trail in Glacier National Park

Our experience was that the Grinnell Glacier hike in Glacier National Park is a must do.

It is hard to imagine a more rewarding vista as you crest the last uphill grade. Icebergs floating in a turquoise lake was definitely awesome.

If I only had two days in the Many Glacier Hotel area, my next hike would be the Red Rock Falls and Bullhead Lake, but make sure you keep going at least as far as the switch backs.

I am looking forward to doing the Grinnell Glacier and Grinnell Lake hike hopefully this summer. We haven’t decided which hikes to do yet. It looks beautiful.

Grinnell Glacier, Apgar Lookout & Bowman Lake Hike: Tour & Review
Jon Cross

OK, so I couldn’t narrow my favorite Glacier National Park hike down to just one. Hope you don’t mind.

The hike to Grinnell Glacier is very cool. The color of Grinnell Lake is incredible. I would say that the scenery is spectacular, but that pretty much sums up all of Glacier National Park.

Apgar Lookout is also well worth the hike. Once at the top you can look out over West Glacier and Lake McDonald. It’s 1800 feet up but well worth the effort.

Finally, I also had to include Bowman Lake as one of my favorite Glacier National Park hikes. While the hike along the lake offers a few great sights but the the first view of the lake is awesome.

In my opinion it was the prettiest of all the lakes in Glacier.

We were there in the morning when the lake was like glass. My wife actually cried when she saw it the first time.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.
