Hello. My name is Bree Katz. I was born and raised in the Denver area and continue to live there today — can’t beat the scenery. These are Merrell Men’s Moab Waterproof Shoes. But they’re great for women like me with wide feet, who have accepted the fact that they have wide feet and realized that the easiest way to go is to just go shopping in the men’s section.

Now, one of the great things about the Moab shoes, especially if you’re from Colorado and enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, is that the Vibram soles are nice and thick and designed to take on trails.

If you’re going to climb up any 14ers, you’ll probably still stick with your hiking boots for the ankle support. But for everything else you’ll be tackling that’s between a walk through the park and a 14er, then these are pretty solid and will do the job for you.

Some issues that you might run into if you buy the Merrell Moab shoes is that they can be a little tight around the toe box. It definitely takes some breaking in.

It’s helpful to wear them with a thick pair of socks when you first hike with them. But once you break them in, they’re really solid shoes and will do you good on everything from a stroll downtown to a nice hike.

How long have you owned them for?

I have owned these for 2 months.

How many stars out of five would you give them?

I’d give the Merrell Moab’s 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Why not the full five?

Well, again, the breaking in process was difficult to contend with.

And since I’ve just gone through this myself, it has perhaps tempered my otherwise positive review of these shoes.

But, you know, once you finish breaking them in, I’d have to say they’re a really solid hiking shoe. Definitely worth the purchase.
